#41: Troy Silva – Don’t Just Coach, Be a Mentor

By
Updated: May 11, 2016

Coaching over 30,000 private lessons, Troy Silva has learned his €œcalling€ in life is to be a coach. However, after a just few years oftransitioning from pro ballplayer to coach at Rijo Baseball, Troy learned that being a quality coach involves much more than simply teaching a kid a nice swing. A good coach serves as a positive influence in the child’€™s life. Troy discusses how the best coaches are those who mentor children and lead by example. Positive coaches motivate and challenge the kids to be their best BOTH on and off the field. After all, if you are a coach, parent or teacher you’€™re going to be a role model. The question is are you going to be a good one or abad one?
