The Menlo Park Legends fell 10-9 to Fontanetti’s A’s on Tuesday despite racking up 11 hits and nine runs in a very sloppy game at San Jose Academy.

The game saw starting pitchers Jacob Eichhorn (4.2 innings, 6 runs, 1 earned, 7 walks) and Toccalino (5 innings, 4 runs, 3 earned,) battle through their wildness and lack of defensive support.  That saw the game tied after 4  1/2 innings.

Two runs in the fifth and four in the eighth helped the Athletics hold on through a wild four run ninth for the Legends.

J Goldenberg racked up two RBIs on two hits for Legends. He singled in the eighth inning and homered in the ninth inning.  Mike Marcoux continued his hot hitting from the weekend with a 2 rbi double and Andrew Castañeda and Abe Arias each had two hits.

The Legends return to San Luis Obispo this weekend to start the Rawlings Cup Tournament on Thursday.
