Continuing a season opening eight game road trip, the Menlo Park Legends fell to the Marysville Goldsox 10 to 7 before a crowd of 865 fans at Appeal-Democrat Park. This leaves the Legends record at 3 and 2
Legends starter Eric Davila went four innings and surrendered eight runs on seven hits. Three Legends errors did not help his cause. Despite the hostile environment and trailing on the road, the Legends battled back to tie the game 5 to 5 in the top of the fifth. Goldsox Starter Kenton Bevacqua (Oklahoma State) was effective in keeping the Legends hitters off balance at the start of the game but eventually surrendered 10 hits in his four plus innings of work. Unfortunately, the Goldsox immediately tallied 3 in their half of the inning and traded single runs in two of the last innings before Marysville closer Brandon Creel (Sacramento State) closed out the game with three strikeouts.
Brian Haggett (Cal State Monterey) and Skylar Brewer each hit home runs for the Legends and Joe Goldenberg (Univ of Hawaii) added three hits.
The Legends finish their trip with a three game series against the Humboldt Crabs.
