Performance Coaching & Mentorship Program

Does your child need a positive force in his life to help him unlock his potential? Does he need some more life skills in his tool belt? Does he just need a little more direction and purpose?
For well over a decade I have been utilizing a modernized, holistic approach to develop and enable student-athletes to reach their optimal potential, both on and off the field. I have seen firsthand what it takes to be successful and happy in the hyper-competitive environment that characterizes the SF Bay Area.
This Fall semester my goal is to serve select baseball loving student-athletes to provide them with all the tools they need to reach their goals, achieve their potential and live their best life!
The Relationship with David
Success in this program will be achieved by developing meaningful, trustworthy relationship between myself and the student-athlete. The program will start with an in-person 1 on 1 discussion about life, purpose, goals and what may be holding the young man back. The goal is to identify their “why” and mission driven signature path.
Following discussions with both the student-athlete and the parents, we will develop a clear gameplan to live a happier, more purposeful and meaningful life. After we reach an agreement about the direction and gameplan, I will work directly with the student athlete as much as necessary to ensure we are staying on track.

Real life example
A talented 16 year old high school ballplayer was at the start of his very important junior year season and his parents asked me for some private lessons. The player was in great shape and had a nice swing already, but unfortunately his talent was not translating to games. They didn\’t know what was wrong and the player was having a lot of anxiety about the upcoming season.
Upon meeting the player we entered a discussion about his goals and what he hoped to accomplish for the season. We recognized that he was putting far too much pressure on himself to keep up with his friends who were getting college offers and was pressing in all areas of his life. His self-worth was completely tied to performance in games and he couldnt get out of his own head. This player needed a simple shift in perspective and some strategies to decompress while off the field. He also needed some time management tricks which would allow him to get to sleep a little earlier and be more refreshed to hit the day.
After discussing with his parents we determined the core focus of the lessons was to develop mindfulness based practices which would help the player block negative distractions and stay in his zone of peak performance. Our sessions would start and end with breathwork and self reflection. I barely made any adjustments to his swing.
Following just a handful of sessions the player hit his first High School home run over the center field fence during a preseason scrimmage. As the season went on he became significantly more consistent at the plate and his confidence shot through the roof as he earned all league honors. His relationship with his parents improved drastically as his renewed perspective and ability to relax provided more space for positive connection. He only needed some minor tweaks to unlock his potential and now has a toolbelt of strategies to utilize at home and on the field.
The player is now going onto his senior year and should be one of the best players in the league. We are now working together on the college identification process to help him figure out the right type of college where he would thrive.
Eligibility and Time Table
I am willing to work with male student-athletes (preferably aspiring baseball players) as young as 9 years old. Must live in the SF Bay Area/Peninsula. We would start together just after Labor Day and would work together until Christmas break (at a minimum)
