The Legends look to capitalize on a successful Tuesday night, taking down the San Francisco Seagulls at San Bruno Park, 6-2. After two tough losses in Santa Barbara, the Legends have won two straight. Menlo Park looks to continue this streak at home this week, as the team has just 4 regular-season games left. Fortunately, the green and gold get two of those games at home at the College of San Mateo.

Sunday vs San Luis Obispo Blues

The Legends came into Sunday night’s action with back-to-back losses in Santa Barbara in a tough series against the Foresters. Zak Vasquez had a great night at the plate, coming in clutch with 3 hits and coming around to score twice. Charlie Deggeller and Mitchell Birdsall added multi-hit games too, with Mitchell driving in 4 runs throughout the afternoon.

On the other hand, the pitching was once again huge for the win. Joseph Lee went 4 2/3, keeping the game scoreless and striking out six. Trailing 4-1 after a big fifth inning, the Legends got a huge outing from Matthew Anderson. Anderson would come in late to stop the bleeding, allowing just 1 more run to come in and keeping the Legends in the game. The bullpen was huge again, as Sam Young came in for the final two innings and took the save.

It was a huge come-from-behind win for the Legends, as they plated four in the eighth to secure a huge road win.

Tuesday vs San Francisco Seagulls

Pitching was the name of the game on Tuesday, as the Legends kept hitters off balance and uncomfortable all night. The Seagulls managed to get only two runs all night, as Van Larson was outstanding on the hill. Larson went four strong innings, striking out 4 and allowing just one run. The Legends bullpen came in clutch yet again, as Francisco Leija and Caleb Henderson had strong outings to secure the victory.

For the offense, the Legends saw their scoring come late with two big 3-run innings in the eighth and ninth to secure the victory. Charlie Deggeller opened up the scoring, smacking an RBI triple to drive in Will Marlin. A wild pitch and an error gave the Legends two more in the eighth to take the lead. Mitchell Birdsall had another fantastic night at the plate, going 3-5 for the Legends.

The Legends would capitalise again late, scoring three more runs in the top of the ninth to shut down the Seagulls’ hopes of coming back and would secure the victory at San Bruno Park.
